A video making rounds on various social media platforms, catalogue events leading to the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy.
The video captures moments in 2015 when former President John Dramani Mahama commissioned a newly built Community Day Senior High School in Ekumfi in the Central region.
At the same event, the former President launched the commencement of the progressive free Senior High School across the country, for all day students at the time.
A total of 365,000 day students benefited from this policy and attended school for free without paying fees.
The policy, the NDC explains was supposed to include boarding students as it progressed, with the rapid provision of facilities in the various schools and steadily completion of the 123 Community Day Schools built by the John Mahama administration.
Mr Mahama as seen in the video, refuted what he described as blatant falsehood, claims that he would abolish the Free SHS program when re-elected into office as President.
He however explained, that he was strongly against the double track system being implemented by the Akufo-Addo government and would abolish that when elected.
He has promised to include private senior high schools in deprived areas while undertaking rapid infrastructure development across the schools.
